Hermann Friedrich Müller

Hermann Friedrich Müller (born April 10, 1843 in Lindenberg , † April 6, 1919 in Blankenburg ) was a German philologist and philosopher . He became known for his translation of the Enneades by Plotinus .

Life

Hermann Friedrich Müller was born in Lindenberg, a town in eastern Prignitz , in 1843 . From 1858 to 1864 he attended high school in Salzwedel . Müller then studied philology and theology in Bonn and Berlin. In 1867 he received his doctorate in philosophy. He then worked as a high school teacher at various schools. From 1885 to 1914 he headed the Herzogliche Gymnasium zu Blankenburg as a school councilor and director .

In addition to his educational work, Müller was mainly concerned with researching and translating Plotin's works. He also published some philosophical writings.
