Hermann Furthmoser

Hermann Furthmoser (* 1934 ; † 2015) was an Austrian conductor , choir director and university teacher .

Act

From 1968 to 1971 the Linz Artistic Director of the Vienna Singing Academy , from 1959 to 1982 choir director of the Vienna Boys' Choir , from 1972 to 1985 also director of the choir of the Bach Community of Vienna and from 1973 to 1976 choir master of the Vienna Men's Choir .

Furthmoser taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at the Institute for String and Other String Instruments (podium / concert). In his role as choir director, he was instrumental in making several sound recordings for the choirs he directed.

Since 1953 he was a member of the Catholic student union KaV Norica Wien and since 1957 of the KÖHV singers Waltharia Wien in the ÖCV .
