Hermann Gallinger (born December 5, 1899 in Basel , † June 3, 1962 in Porto Ronco , Ticino ) was a Swiss actor .

Hermann Gallinger made his debut at the municipal theater in his hometown in 1920 . After engagements at various German theaters and in Zurich , he came to the Hessisches Landestheater Darmstadt in 1927 , where he quickly became a crowd favorite. In 1933 he was dismissed for political reasons immediately after the National Socialists came to power . The dismissal without notice was condemned in a local satirical magazine. Through a lawyer, he managed to claim the payment of the fee for the rest of the season. He returned to his hometown of Basel , where he remained a member of the Stadttheater ensemble until 1952 . At the same time he started a career in Swiss film , for example in Das Gespensterhaus (1942).

When Paul Ilg's book Das Menschlein Matthias was filmed in 1941, Gallinger played a leading role alongside Röbi Rapp , Leopold Biberti , Sigfrid Steiner , Petra Marin, Hans Fehrmann, Waldburga Gmühr, Ditta Oesch, Marga Galli and Edwige Elisabeth. Directed by Edmund Heuberger . The film was distributed by Chiel Weissmann Emelka-Film Zurich.

In the 1942 film De Chegelkönig , Gallinger appeared with Rudolf Bernhard , Max Knapp , Fredy Scheim and Willy Ackermann .
