Hermann Haller (politician)
Hermann Haller (born February 22, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian farmer , winegrower and politician ( ÖVP ). Haller was a member of the Federal Council from 2003 to 2007 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 2007 to 2018 .
education and profession
After the elementary school in Enzersfeld in the Weinviertel, Haller attended secondary school in Korneuburg and the Francisco Josephinum in Wieselburg , which he graduated in 1981. He then did his military service from 1981 to 1982. Haller has been working as a farmer and vintner in Enzersfeld since 1982.
He and his wife Sigrid (formerly Baumgartner) have two daughters.
Politics and functions
Politically, Haller was initially active as a councilor in Enzersfeld from 1990 to 1995 and has been its managing member since 1995. In addition, from 1983 to 1995 he held the function of local party chairman of the ÖVP Enzersfeld. He has also held the position of deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP since 1995, has been deputy chairman of the district farmers' council since 1993, and deputy chairman of the district viticulture association since 1995. Since 2005 Haller has also been district party chairman of the ÖVP Korneuburg.
Haller became a member of the Korneuburg District Chamber of Commerce in 2000 , and has been Deputy Chamber Chairman since 2002. Haller represented the ÖVP Lower Austria from April 24, 2003 to February 22, 2007 in the Federal Council and was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from February 23, 2007. After the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 , he left the state parliament.
He is regional spokesman for the Korneuburg mobility region, from 2007 to the end of November 2017 spokesman for the LEADER region “Weinviertel Donauraum” and chairman of the small region “10 vor Wien” as well as chairman of the Korneuburg district tourism association. He is also a member of the supervisory board of Österreichische Weinmarketing GesmbH.
