Hermann Hering (politician)

Hermann Hering (born April 13, 1821 in Neustadt an der Orla ; † February 4, 1887 ) was a lawyer and member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Hering attended the grammar school in Weimar and studied law at the University of Jena from 1840 to 1843, where he became a member of the fraternity in the Burgkeller in 1840 . From 1848 he was a lawyer in Eisenach , from 1852 a member and from 1860 uninterrupted chairman of the Eisenach municipal council. First he was a member of the Weimar Landtag in 1852, was re-elected as a member of parliament in 1860 and has been a member since then. First he was second, then first vice-president of the state parliament. Hering was co-author of the so-called Eisenach program of 1859, co-founder and zealous member of the national association and the parliament. At the Landtag in Weimar, he repeatedly submitted the application for the abolition of the death penalty and enforced it in the Landtag, not the government.

In 1867 he was a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency of Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach 2 ( Eisenach , Dermbach ) and the National Liberal Party .
