Hermann Jansen (politician)

Hermann Jansen (born October 28, 1931 in Rheydt ; † July 13, 2020 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the state parliament .

Life

After attending elementary school , Jansen completed an apprenticeship as a painter and then worked as a painter and varnisher . From 1971 to 1983 he was chairman of the works council at the Mönchengladbach textile machinery manufacturer Trützschler and from 1983 to 1990 union secretary at IG Metall in Mönchengladbach.

Since 1963 he was a member of the SPD. He was represented in numerous party bodies. He was also a member of IG Metall and the workers' welfare organization.

From May 30, 1985 to June 1, 2000 Jansen was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in each constituency 054 Mönchengladbach I.

Hermann Jansen was a member from 1997 and chairman of the supervisory board of Borussia Mönchengladbach from 2000 to 2012 .
