Hermann Wilhelm Kopp (born August 21, 1954 in Stuttgart ) is a German musician, composer and translator, in exile since 1991 and currently living in Barcelona .

Hermann grew up in a middle-class family near Stuttgart; two uncles who were missing in World War II and who each inherited his first name and a violin brought him into contact with death at an early age. At the request of his parents, he took violin lessons, which he dropped out at the age of 14. A few years later, punk and new wave revolutionized his understanding of music.

After moving to Karlsruhe in 1979, he became a member of the band Keine Aahme , with whom he performed live in Mannheim and Berlin. In the eighties he released two vinyl records with a sound that combines electronic minimalism and excursions into pop music and chanson .

In 1987 he participated in the soundtrack of the German horror film Nekromantik , which was followed in 1989 by music for the film Der Todesking and in 1990 for the film Nekromantik 2 .

Collaborations with other musicians include the Italian artist Lorenzo Abattoir and the British act Am Not , both from the field of noise (music) , the British doomcore band Fifth Era and the German project Schattenspiel .
