Hermann Lemme

Hermann Lemme (born April 13, 1903 in Dresden ; † August 29, 1989 ibid) was a German pedagogue and homeland researcher who presented several publications on Saxon Switzerland , including three hiking books .

Life

Lemme attended the Freiherrlich von Fletcher seminar in Dresden and in 1923 became a teacher in Altendorf . As early as 1924, due to his knowledge of local history, he was appointed to the district committee for local history in the Bad Schandau school supervisory district. The district committee was the editor of a series of publications in which Lemme published his first major work, The Origin of Saxon Switzerland, Part 1: Sandstone and Chalk Sea , in 1928 . Further publications in various publications followed, including the 1929 study Geology of the Sebnitzer Landscape .

In 1930 Lemme went back to Dresden and became a teacher at the 76th elementary school in the Dresden district of Briesnitz . His most important publications include publications in the series Values ​​of the German Homeland and Our Little Wanderlust in the 1950s and 1960s. Lemme researched on site, in literature and in archives.

Lemme died in Dresden in 1989 and was buried in the Heidefriedhof . A memorial plaque in Altendorf has been commemorating him since 1993.
