Hermann Ludwig (politician)

Hermann Ludwig (born July 19, 1858 in Wadern ; † March 20, 1931 in Neunkirchen (Saar) ) was a German civil servant . He was the first mayor of Neunkirchen (Saar) after becoming a town.

Life

Hermann Ludwig was born in Wadern as the son of a farming family. At the age of 16 he became an administrative apprentice in the mayor's office in Wadern. He then worked as a clerk for the government of Trier and as a district committee secretary for the district office of Ottweiler . In April 1883 he became a salaried alderman of Neunkirchen.

On May 1, 1886, he was appointed mayor of Neunkirchen. In addition, he also became the community leader and chairman of the community council. In addition to Neunkirchen, he was responsible for Niederneunkirchen, Spiesen , Elversberg , Wellesweiler and (Prussian)  Kohlhof .

When he became a town on April 1, 1922, in which he played a key role, he became the first mayor of the town of Neunkirchen, which then comprised 39,000 residents. On April 30, 1926, he was adopted into retirement.

The Bürgermeister-Ludwig-Strasse on the Upper Market was named after Hermann Ludwig .
