Kohlhof ( Neunkirchen (Saar) south-east of the city center , which, like the immediately neighboring districts of Furpach and Ludwigsthal, is now used for residential purposes. In contrast to the neighboring Limbach district Bayerisch Kohlhof , the Kohlhof , which belongs to Neunkirchen, was formerly also called Preußisch Kohlhof . From 1816 to 1918 the border between the Kingdom of Prussia and the Kingdom of Bavaria ran here .
) is a district ofhistory
A number of prehistoric and protohistoric finds came to light in the area. Modern history begins with the Kohlhof , named since 1718 , which initially formed an annex belonging to the neighboring Forbacherhof (today Gutshof Furpach). In 1755 the border between Nassau-Saarbrücken and Pfalz-Zweibrücken was changed, and the most southeastern part of the Furpach district came to Pfalz-Zweibrücken as part of an area exchange. In 1763, the common man Wilhelm Hauser from Altstadt built a property on this strip of land , from which today's settlement Bayerisch Kohlhof developed, which had eleven inhabitants in 1833 and eight houses in 1880. On the Nassau-Saarbrückischer side, a new manorial yard, the Neue Kohlhof or Lützelholzer Hof , was laid out in 1763 . Its boundary was separated from the Furpach boundary before 1768, but before 1845 it was reconnected with the Furpach boundary. The community emerging on the old Furpach district bore the name Kohlhof, also known as Prussian Kohlhof to distinguish it , and in the 19th century gradually grew out of several settlement centers into a settlement that had 40 inhabitants in 1822 and 211 in 1880. The individual settlement centers were:
- Forbacherhof , since 1899 Haus Furpach , bought in 1904 by the municipality of Neunkirchen, since 1936 construction of a housing estate, today the Furpach district
- Neuer Kohlhof or Lützelholzer Hof on Andreas-Limbach-Straße
- Rathshütte , later Goldene Bremm , today Höfchen on Limbacher Straße
- Böhlershaus , dialect Biehlers-Haus, later Brückweiherhof on Limbacher Straße
- Kohlhofer Torhaus or Lützelholzer Torhaus , later Sauerbrey-Haus on Niederbexbacher Strasse
In 1920 a burial place was created for both denominations. The municipality of Kohlhof merged with Neunkirchen, Niederneunkirchen and Wellesweiler in 1922 to form the new municipality of Neunkirchen, which received city rights in the same year. The Patriotic Women's Association of the Red Cross built the Berthaheim , the later children's clinic , at the Brückweiherhof as a rest home for women and children and a home for the elderly . In 1934 the Catholic Church of St. George was built in Kohlhof. On the occasion of the regional and administrative reform in Saarland , the Mittelbexbacher Annexe Ludwigsthal, the Niederbexbacher Annexe Hirschbergsiedlung and the Limbacher Annexe Bayerisch Kohlhof were struck to the city of Neunkirchen on January 1, 1974 and at the same time changed the district membership. After protests, political and administrative disputes, Bayerisch Kohlhof returned to the Limbach district of the Kirkel community on April 1, 1985, but only the residential development and part of the district.
Economy and Infrastructure
Kohlhof is ten kilometers from downtown Neunkirchen. The federal autobahn 8 and the federal autobahn 6 have extremely good transport connections in all four directions, which are used by local and long-distance commuters. The former Kohlhof children's clinic , located on the outskirts of Kohlhof, was well known. At the beginning of 2009, a new clinic building was built, to which the Neunkirchen St. Josef Hospital moved. Since January 2011, the former Kohlhof children's clinic and the former St. Josef Hospital Neunkirchen have been united under one roof as the Marienhausklinik St. Josef Kohlhof in the new group clinic .
