Yevgeny Minerafissowitsch Muratow ( Russian Евгений Минерафисович Муратов ; born January 28, 1981 in Nizhny Tagil , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Yevgeny Muratov began his career as a hockey player at Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for whose professional team he was active in the super league from 1998 to 2004 . Only the 1999/2000 season he finished with his league rivals Ak Bars Kazan . Following this, he was also selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the ninth round as a total of 274th player by the Edmonton Oilers , for whom he never played. Instead, the winger stayed in his Russian homeland and moved to Metallurg Novokuznetsk for the 2004/05 season . He then spent two years at SKA Saint Petersburg before signing with his ex-club Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the summer of 2007. After only 22 games, the former junior national player left this again and joined HK Sibir Novosibirsk , for which he was initially in the Super League in the following two and a half years, and from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League was on the ice.
For the 2010/11 season Muratov was committed by KHL promoted HK Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk before ending his career in 2011.
International
For Russia , Muratov took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 2000 and 2001 . In 14 junior internationals he scored eight goals and gave five assists. At the U20 World Cup in 2000 he was runner-up with his team. He himself was the tournament's top scorer with six goals and was elected to the All-Star Team of the U20 World Cup.
