Hermann Maximilian to Lynar
Hermann Maximilian Graf zu Lynar (born April 24, 1825 in Berlin ; † August 19, 1914 in Lübbenau ) was a German nobleman and member of the Prussian mansion .
Family background
Hermann Maximilian Graf zu Lynar belonged to a family originally resident in Italy in the Faenza area, the Conte di Linari. Expelled by the Florentines, who destroyed their castle, they first came to France and then, because of their Lutheran faith, went to Germany in 1568, where they entered the service of the Elector of Brandenburg . They finally settled in Niederlausitz , where they acquired the Lübbenau registry in 1621 . From October 12, 1854 until the revolution of 1918, they were hereditary members of the Prussian manor house.
Life
Hermann Maximilian zu Lynar was born on April 24, 1825 in Berlin as the eldest son of Count Hermann Rochus zu Lynar (1797-1878), freelance gentleman on Lübbenau and hereditary member of the Prussian mansion, and Countess Mathilde von Voss (1803-1838) . First he joined a cavalry regiment, as was customary at the time for the sons of noblemen, in which he made it up to major . After his father's death in 1878, he inherited not only his extensive real estate - in addition to the Lübbenau castle and estate as well as the Groß Beuchow , Seese and Lichtenau estates - but also its seat in the Prussian mansion, which he held until his death in 1914. As a Protestant nobleman, he was active in charity in the Protestant Order of St. John , of which he was a legal knight. He died in Lübbenau on August 19, 1914.
He was married to Bertha Countess von Solms-Baruth (1832-1909) since October 26, 1853. The marriage had three daughters and two sons; the older, Rochus Friedrich (1857–1928), inherited the class rule and the hereditary seat in the manor house.
