Hermann Günther Miklas (born April 26, 1953 in Graz ) is an Austrian Evangelical Lutheran pastor. From 1999 to 2018 he was Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of AB Steiermark .

Life

The son of a pharmacist and a doctor went to school in Graz and graduated from the Oeversee Gymnasium there in 1971. Hermann Miklas then studied Protestant theology until 1977 at the Church University of Wuppertal / Bethel , the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the University of Vienna , where he obtained a master's degree in theology. In 2007 he also obtained a Master of Education in the field of organizational development at the Johannes Kepler University Linz .

From 1977 to 1979 he was vicar in the Gustav Adolf Church in Voitsberg . To the ministry, he was on 15 June 1979 by Superintendent Dieter bang ordained . From 1979 to 1986 Miklas was pastor in the Voitsberg Gustav-Adolf-Kirche and from 1986 to 1999 pastor in the Lutheran City Church in Vienna .

In 1999 Hermann Miklas became the successor of Ernst-Christian Gerhold Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of AB Styria. Since 2000 he has been chairman of the Theological Committee of Synod AB and the General Synod of the Evangelical Church A. u. HB He has been chairman of the Ecumenical Forum of Christian Churches in Styria since 2003 and worked on the organizational development process of the Evangelical Church AB ( Nasswalder Model ). In 2007 he was awarded the Great Gold Medal of Honor of the State of Styria .

Hermann Miklas is married to Helene Miklas, who was Vice-Rector of the Kirchlich-Pädagogische Hochschule Wien / Krems from 2006 to 2011 . You have a son.

In March 2018, Wolfgang Rehner was elected as his successor as Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent AB Steiermark and introduced on September 23, 2018.
