Hermann Nottberg
Hermann Nottberg (born July 18, 1911 in Hesepertwist , Meppen district ; † October 30, 2006 ) was a Lower Saxony farmer and politician ( CDU ), member of the Lower Saxony state parliament , and mayor of the Twist community .
Life
Hermann Nottberg was born on July 18, 1911 in Hesepertwist as the son of the farmer Hermann Lambert Nottberg and his wife Maria Carolina, nee. Levelink, born. His father died in 1915 as a soldier in the First World War. Nottberg first attended primary school in Hesepertwist and continued his education from 1927 to 1928 at the agricultural school in Meppen. Then he attended the rural community college and took over the parents' farm as an independent farmer. He participated in World War II from 1939 to 1945.
In 1947 Nottberg joined the CDU as a member. From 1946 to 1977 he was a member of the district council of the Meppen district, whose deputy district administrator he was from 1950 to 1968. From 1977 to 1981 he was a member of the district council of the newly founded district of Emsland . From 1948 to 1964 he was honorary mayor of the municipality of Hesepertwist and from 1964 to 1976 he was the first honorary mayor of the newly founded municipality of Twist . From 1953 he was a member of the board of the Lower Saxony Municipal Council. He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in the sixth and seventh electoral periods from June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1974. He was chairman of the supervisory board of the slaughtering and meat processing plant of the Hochwald Nahrungsmittel-Werke, which opened in 1970 in Meppen .
Nottberg was a Catholic denomination. With his wife Edeltraud, geb. Ganseforth (1921-2013), he had six children. Hermann Nottberg died on October 30, 2006 at the age of 95 and was buried in the Twist-Bült cemetery.

- 1981: First honorary citizen of the Twist community
- In 2008, the Bürgermeister-Nottberg-Strasse in the Twister district of Bült was named after Nottberg .
