Hermann Ochsenreiter

Hermann Ochsenreiter (born December 11, 1846 in Tettnang , † July 29, 1922 in Stuttgart ) was a German pharmacist who was one of the most respected pharmacists of his time.

Life

Ochsenreiter completed his training at the Faber pharmacy in Crailsheim . He then worked as an assistant in Stuttgart, Wiesbaden and Montreux . He then studied pharmacy at the polytechnic school in Stuttgart and at the University of Tübingen . In 1869 he completed his studies with the pharmacy exam in Tübingen .

He worked as an employed pharmacist at the court pharmacy in Stuttgart and abroad. In 1871 he returned to the court pharmacy in Stuttgart, where he became the first assistant. After the death of the headmaster Zindel in 1880, Ochsenreiter became headmaster. In the laboratory of the court pharmacy, he devoted himself to the self-production of galenic preparations. In 1910 Ochsenreiter retired.

In 1895 he was awarded the title of Hofrat by the King of Württemberg in recognition of the excellent management of the court pharmacy . In 1907 he became a Privy Councilor. Ochsenreiter was a member of the commission for processing the Württemberg medicine tax.
