Hermann Paldamus

Hermann Paldamus (born July 20, 1805 in Bernburg (Saale) , † October 16, 1854 in Greifswald ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher .

Hermann Paldamus was the son of a wealthy Bernburg doctor who died early. From 1822 to 1825 he studied at the University of Halle in Karl Christian brushwood Classics and was treated with a dissertation on Propertius Doctor of Philosophy PhD . He went to Berlin to the pedagogical seminar for learned schools and taught from 1826 to 1828 at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium there and until 1830 at the Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster . At Easter 1830 Paldamus took up the position of vice-rector at the Greifswald grammar school . In 1835 he was appointed professor and became vice rectorate.

From 1832 to 1842 Hermann Paldamus also gave lectures as a private lecturer at the University of Greifswald .
