Hermann Peseckas

Hermann Peseckas (* 1950 ) is a German documentary filmmaker . He has lived in Salzburg since 1978 .

He studied sociology, cultural anthropology and journalism in Salzburg. From 1975 to 1983 he worked as a photographer. Since then he has been working as a filmmaker with a focus on documentaries. In the 1980s he published a. a. in the city magazine Falter . In 1987 he set up the documentary film department of the Institute for Everyday Culture. In 1993 he became a founding member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Independent Film and Video Makers in Salzburg.

In 2016, the film Bottom received the Social Awareness Award at the Crossing Europe film festival in Linz and in 2017 the Franz Grabner Prize at Diagonale .
