Hermann Regensburger

Hermann Regensburger (born July 9, 1940 in Ingolstadt ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

His public political engagement began in 1966 when he joined the CSU. He was chairman of the Ingolstadt district association for two years, then a long-standing member of the board of the CSU Upper Bavaria and finally of the state board of his party. In 1967 he became a member of the Ingolstadt-Northwest district committee. In 1972 he was elected to the Ingolstadt city council, of which he was a member until April 30, 2008. For two and a half years he was second mayor of Ingolstadt, from 1974 to 1993 he was chairman of the CSU city council group.

In 1974 Regensburger was elected as a direct candidate in the Bavarian state parliament with a clear majority. He remained its member until autumn 2003. In 1986 he became the domestic political spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group and deputy chairman of the committee for constitutional, legal and local issues. From 1993 to 2003 he was State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior.
