Hermann Roeder (pedagogue)

Hermann Roeder (born January 11, 1853 in Magdeburg ; † April 3, 1907 ) was a German teacher , headmaster and textbook - author of mathematics .

Life

Hermann Roeder worked as a civil servant teacher from 1877 during the founding period of the German Empire . The person addressed with the title Professor worked in Hanover, among other things, at the municipal Lyceum I as a senior teacher. As such, he published, for example, the work The Coordinate Concept and Some Basic Properties of Conic Sections, which was treated in the journal for mathematics and physics in 1896 . First a supplement to the revision of the planimetry by Kambly ... , which was published by Ferdinand Hirt's Royal University and Publishing Bookstore in Breslau.

The "Gymnasium Courses for Girls", which opened at Easter in 1900 on the initiative of the women's rights activist Hedwig Kettler , from which the Sophienschule was to emerge as Hanover's first girls ' high school , were initially headed by Hermann Roeder.

On October 1, 1900, Roeder was appointed director of the school, initially called Realschule III, in Hanover, later the Luther School , which was renamed Oberrealschule II under Hermann Roeder in 1906.
