Hermann Sander (politician)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hermann Sander (born July 14, 1845 in Aschersleben , † March 12, 1939 in Berlin ) was a German manufacturer and local politician .

Life

Hermann Sander moved to Rixdorf (today Berlin-Neukölln ) at a young age , where he became an accountant in a weaving mill . He was elected head of the Rixdorf community by the 48 members of the city council in 1897 and held this position again from 1889 to 1896. Between 1896 and 1899 he was a member of the parish council ( parish judge ).

From 1899 to 1919 he was a city councilor. He did the voluntary work for 20 years. During this time, Sander worked for Hermann Boddin . When the previous municipal councils were dissolved in 1919 as a result of the change in electoral law and the reorganization of the electoral process, Sander resigned from the city parliament . He owned a textile factory in Rixdorf that still produced with handlooms .

Throughout the years, Sander devoted himself strongly to working for the common good. He was the creator of the name " Neukölln " for the name "Rixdorf", which was discredited at the time (among other things because of the popular street song In Rixdorf ist Musike ).
