Hermann Schwieger (born October 11, 1908 in Krumwehl, Helse municipality , Süderdithmarschen district , † June 10, 1976 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). With interruptions he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament from 1947 to 1971 .

Life

After completing elementary school , Hermann Schwieger completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter between 1924 and 1927 . From 1931 he attended the community college in Harrisleefeld . He worked as a carpenter until 1939. From 1948 Schwieger was an employee of IG Bau-Steine-Erden .

Schwieger had been a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth for some time when he joined the SPD in 1926 and became a union member. In 1927 he was a co-founder of the workers gymnastics and sports club Marne . At that time, Schwieger was also a member of the Reich Banner Black-Red-Gold . During the time of the Nazi regime, he did not develop any political activity, only after the end of World War II did Schwieger become involved again in trade unions and politics.

In 1945 Schwieger became a member of IG Bau-Steine-Erden, later he was temporarily deputy chairman of the DGB district committee in Dithmarschen and a member of the Federal Advisory Council of IG Bau-Steine-Erden. In 1946, Schwieger rejoined the SPD and was involved in re-establishing the party in Marne and Süderdithmarschen . In 1948 he became district chairman of the SPD in Süderdithmarschen. From October 21, 1946 to November 12, 1948, Schwieger was honorary district administrator of the Süderdithmarschen district. Since 1946 he was a member of the Süderdithmarscher district assembly and the district committee . Schwieger was also a city ​​councilor in Marne from 1946 to 1964 .

In the first state election in 1947, Schwieger was elected to the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituency 27 (Süderdithmarschen-Marne) and was initially a member of the state parliament from May 8, 1947 to May 31, 1950. On September 12, 1949, Schwieger took part in the first Federal Assembly, at which Theodor Heuss was elected Federal President . In the second electoral term, Schwieger did not manage to be re-elected directly, but only moved up to the state parliament on December 5, 1953 for Paul Lohmann, who had died before , while Schwieger remained a member of parliament until the end of the legislative period on August 6, 1954. Also in the third electoral term Schwieger only moved into the state parliament as a successor , this time for the previously deceased Otto Müller , so that Schwieger became a member of the state parliament again from December 12, 1955. In the following elections in 1958, 1962 and 1967, Schwieger was elected to the state parliament via the SPD state list; he remained a member of parliament until May 15, 1971.
