Hermann Stengelin

Hermann Julius Stengelin (born October 21, 1871 in Tuttlingen , Kingdom of Württemberg ; † May 15, 1948, same place, French zone of occupation ) was a member of the Württemberg state parliament as a representative of the Tuttlingen District Office ( Schwarzwaldkreis ).

Family and origin

Hermann Stengelin trained as a cooper . His father-in-law, Stefan Mesle, bought the Schützen inn in the 1860s , which Stengelin and his brother-in-law Georg Mesle took over in 1903. The restaurant had its own brewery, three dining rooms, guest rooms and a bowling alley. From 1931 the local NSDAP used the restaurant as a party club. Stengelin was chairman of the district inners' association and the Tuttlinger Beautification Association. He was also a Freemason .

Political career

Through party mergers, Hermann Stengelin was a member of the German People's Party , the Progressive People's Party and the German Democratic Party . With the resignation of Christian Storz , Stengelin became a member of the Württemberg state estates from 1913 . In 1918 he worked in the state assembly of the People's State of Württemberg on the new Württemberg state constitution.
