Hermann Trautmann

Hermann Trautmann (born April 18, 1842 in Wittenberg ; † April 6, 1926 in Köthen ) was a businessman and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Trautmann attended high school in Wittenberg, the commercial school in Dessau and became a businessman. Until 1895 he was the owner of a fashion store and since 1890 co-owner and manager of a steam brick factory. He was also co-founder and second chairman of the supervisory board of Hafen- und Lagerhaus-Aktien-Gesellschaft Aken . When his father-in-law Hugo Behr died in 1905, he took over the Wilhelm Behr spirits and vinegar factory in Köthen .

Political career and honorary positions

Since 1873 he was city councilor and for years city councilor in Köthen. From 1894 he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the District Railway Council Halle-Erfurt, district council member and second chairman of the Anhalt Fire Brigade Association. From 1907 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Duchy of Anhalt 2 ( Bernburg , Köthen , Ballenstedt ) and the National Liberal Party .

honors and awards

He was awarded the Knight's Insignia 1st Class of the Duke of Anhalt House Order Albrecht the Bear , the Jubilee Medal of Duke Friedrich von Anhalt, the China Medal made of steel and the Fire Brigade Medal for 25 years of service. On December 15, 1910 he was made an honorary citizen of Koethen.

Trautmann was a member of the Freemason Lodge Ludwig zum Palmbaum in Köthen and temporarily its master of the chair .
