Hermann Troppenz

Hermann Troppenz (born January 22, 1889 in Braunschweig ; † March 10, 1964 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Hermann Troppenz was the eldest of seven children of the locksmith August Troppenz (born September 30, 1854 in Bahrensdorf, Beeskow ; † December 1, 1915 in Braunschweig) and his wife Katharina, née. Nolte (born October 5, 1860 in Fretterode ). One of his siblings was Walter Troppenz , who became known as a writer, especially of science fiction novels. After attending school, Troppenz completed a commercial apprenticeship and initially worked in administration. He had been active in social policy since 1923 and later held a managerial position at a health insurance company. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, he was released without notice and arrested. From 1945 he was head of a health insurance company.

Political party

Troppenz was a member of the SPD from 1919 to 1933 and since 1945. In 1946 he was elected chairman of the SPD district association Helmstedt .

MP

Troppenz was a member of the district council of the Helmstedt district . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1949 to 1953 from its first election . In parliament he represented the constituency of Braunschweig-Land - Helmstedt.
