Walter Troppenz
Walter Troppenz (born March 9, 1897 in Braunschweig ; † March 1974 ibid.) Was a German writer and journalist who published his plays and novels under the pseudonyms Rudolf Penz and Bruno S. Wiek , using his last pseudonym from the Low German name of his Hometown Braunschweig "Brunswiek" derived. Under this name he published science fiction and crime novels ; in addition, he wrote numerous poems.
Life
Walter Troppenz was the fifth of seven children of the locksmith August Troppenz (born September 30, 1854 in Bahrensdorf, Amt Beeskow ; † December 1, 1915 in Braunschweig) and his wife Katharina, nee. Nolte (born October 5, 1860 in Fretterode ). Among his siblings was the first-born and eldest son of the Hermann Troppenz family , who became known as an SPD politician.
Walter Troppenz initially worked as a bicycle locksmith, but then switched to writing in the mid-1920s.
Workers' literature and plays
Between 1925 and 1929 Troppenz, who was living in Halle at the time , published numerous stage plays that had (partly humorous) the theme of working-class life.
