Hermann Werner von Brabeck (born January 28, 1739 ; † July 12, 1785 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and canon in various dioceses.

Life

Hermann Werner von Brabeck came from the Westphalian noble family Brabeck . He was the son of Drosten Jobst Edmund von Brabeck and his wife Felicitas Maria Mauritia von Kerckerinck zu Stapel . His brother Friedrich Mauritz was also canon in Münster. After completing the biennium , which was a prerequisite for the spiritual status, Hermann Werner received a cathedral canonical in Hildesheim in 1753 . Here he was promoted to cathedral curator in 1777 . As early as 1746, at the age of seven, he had obtained the possession of a prebender at Lübeck Cathedral . He was one of the four Catholic canons in the otherwise Lutheran Lübeck cathedral chapter . With the resignation of Hermann Adolf von Nagel , Hermann Werner came into the possession of a cathedral priest from Münster in 1764 . Here he was sworn up on June 7th that year . His cousin Franz von Landsberg gave him a cathedral canon in Paderborn, which had become vacant during his rotation . Hermann Werner was very ambitious and competed in the coadjutor election in 1785 with little chance of success against Franz Egon von Fürstenberg and had no chances. Hermann Werner was a subdeacon . His Lübeck prebend went to Franz Ferdinand von Elmendorff .
