Hermann Adolf von Nagel

Hermann Adolf (Theodor Johann Maria) von Nagel (born July 29, 1732, Haus Vornholz, Ostenfelde; † July 26, 1782 in Münster ) was canon in Münster and Paderborn, Elector of Cologne Chamberlain, officiator in Stromberg and council of war.

Life

Origin and family

Hermann Adolf von Nagel grew up as the son of Edmund Friedrich Levin von Nagel and his wife Johanna Rosina Antoinetta von Tastungen together with his siblings Louisa Wilhelmina Sophia Caroline († 1780, canoness in Freckenhorst) and Franz Ferdinand in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Nagel .

On July 16, 1765 he married Johanna Elisabeth von Doornick zu Schlangenburg. From the marriage the son Adrian Wilhelm emerged, his successor in the office of Drosten.

Act

On October 26, 1747, Hermann Adolf received a cathedral priest in Hildesheim , which he lost again in a legal dispute in 1751. Before that, he was appointed to the official resignation in Stromberg on July 27, 1742 - until he came of age under the administration of Canon Hermann Caspar von Hanxleben . He did the same as his ancestors, who held this office for a long time. On March 16 In 1753 he was kurkölnischer eunuch . With the revolt to the knighthood of Münster on January 17, 1756, he became a representative in the state parliament , a committee made up of the three estates. His task was to regulate the tax system and from 1774 also the feuding system in the bishopric of Münster .

In the period from March 6, 1759 to November 19, 1776 he was a war council. With the approval of the Pope , Hermann Adolf became canon in Münster in 1763. From his brother Franz Ferdinand he received the cathedral praise in Paderborn in April 1763 , which he renounced on January 20, 1764.

On December 19, 1780 he became a member of a state parliament commission.
