Adrian Wilhelm Franz Levin von Nagel (* July 13, 1721 ; † December 12, 1798 ) was a privy councilor and Drost in Werne and Stromberg.

Life

Origin and family

Adrian Wilhelm von Nagel was born as the son of Friedrich Ludwig von Nagel and his wife Katharina von Twickel zu Havixbeck (1694–1735) in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Nagel . In 1755 he married the free woman Josefina Philippina von Calenberg zu Westheim and Niederhaus in Freckenhorst. The children of the marriage were Johanna Luberta (1759–1816, canoness in Geseke), Edmund Ludwig, (1768–1804, Drost in Stromberg and Dragoons lieutenant), Maximilian Dietrich (November 12, 1777, successor to his father as Drost in Werne) and Maximilian Friedrich Anton Maria (born September 7, 1756, Canon Münster).

Act

With the receipt of the tonsure on February 13, 1729 Adrian Wilhelm was prepared for a clerical office. After studying in Salzburg , he was appointed treasurer of the Electorate of Cologne in 1747 . By Aufschwörung to Munster knighthood on 24 April 1749, he became a representative in the parliament , a body which was composed of the three booths. His task was to regulate the tax system and from 1447 also the feudal system in the bishopric of Münster. In 1751, Adrian Wilhelm received a cathedral praise in Münster after his predecessor had resigned . Because of his marriage in 1755 he renounced his prebend in favor of Franz Ferdinand von Nagel. From November 23, 1754 to September 23, 1761 Adrian Wilhelm worked as an official in Werne . He was the successor of Franz Adolf von Nagel as an official in Stromberg .
