Franz Engelbert von Landsberg zu Erwitte (born July 4, 1739 in Drensteinfurt , † December 7, 1810 in Münster ) was canon in Münster and Paderborn.

Life

Origin and family

Franz Engelbert von Landsberg grew up as the son of Franz Kaspar Ferdinand von Landsberg zu Erwitte and his wife Anna Maria Theresia von der Recke together with his siblings Anna Adolphina (* 1751, ∞ Hermann von Spiegel zum Desenberg ), Clemens August (1733–1785), Johann Matthias (1734–1813) and Franz Karl (1735–1779) in the Westphalian noble family von Landsberg .

Act

Franz Engelbert completed his studies at the University of Paderborn before he received a cathedral praise in Paderborn in 1762 . He exchanged this for a prebender in Münster in 1775 . The revival of the knighthood of Münster fell on January 11, 1766. He was a member of the state parliament , a body made up of the three estates. The task of the state parliament consisted in regulating the tax system and, from 1447, also the feuding system in the bishopric of Münster .
