Hermann Wielandner

Hermann Wielandner (born August 15, 1920 in Bischofshofen ; † November 21, 1974 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and community official. From 1965 to 1974 he was a member of the National Council .

Wielander attended elementary and secondary school in Bischofshofen from 1926 to 1934 and then graduated from commercial school in Salzburg by 1936 . He then worked as a farm worker between 1936 and 1937 and completed an internship at the Werfen community from 1937 to 1938. After a brief stint at the Sparkasse in St. Johann im Pongau , Wielander joined the community of Bischofshofen as a clerk in 1938. Then he was drafted into the Reich Labor Service in 1940, from 1940 to 1945 he did military service in World War II , where he was taken prisoner of war. After the end of the Second World War, Wielander returned to the service of the Bischofshofen community, where he was an administrative employee from 1945 and head of the cash desk from 1950.

In the political field, Wielander was active as a member of the SPÖ state party executive from 1956 to 1974, and was also active within the party from 1963 to 1974 as the SPÖ district party chairman in Pongau. He was also involved as the district chairman of the community employees in Pongau. In addition, he was a member of the Bischofshofen municipal council from 1949 to 1959 , and between 1959 and 1974 he held the office of mayor of Bischofshofen. In addition, he represented the SPÖ from January 14, 1965 to November 21, 1974 in the National Council.
