Hermann Winner

Hermann Winner (* 1955 in Bersenbrück ) is a German physicist , mechanical engineer and professor in the mechanical engineering department at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1975, Winner began studying physics at the University of Münster in 1976 . In 1981 he completed his studies with a degree in physics. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Applied Physics at the University of Münster. There he received his doctorate in 1987 with the work dynamics of domain walls in metallic ferromagnets for Dr. rer. nat. He then worked from 1987 to 2001 at Robert Bosch GmbH in Karlsruhe , and later in Schwieberdingen . Since 2002 he has held the chair for vehicle technology at the TU Darmstadt and head of the vehicle technology department there (FZD) in the mechanical engineering department. Since 2012, Winner has also been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure , and since 2013 of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Transport Authority . He also received the IEEE-ITS Institutional Award (For Institutional Leadership in Research and System Engineering for Advanced Driver Assistance and Safety) in 2012.

Hermann Winner also has over 100 patent applications in the field of vehicle technology.
