Hermann Bergmann (architect)

Hermann (von) Bergmann (born October 20, 1816 in Prague , † May 26, 1886 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect .

Hermann Bergmann studied in Prague and Munich before studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Peter von Nobile . Together with Moritz von Schwind he worked on the frescoes in Rudolf von Arthaber's villa in Döbling. From 1844 he worked increasingly in Prague, so he was involved in the expansion of the Old Town Hall . In 1851 he was a reporter at the London industrial exhibition before moving back to Vienna. He became a full member of the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1854 he became senior building officer and from 1875 he was a member of the kk Central Commission in Vienna.
