Hermenegildo José Torres Asanza

Hermenegildo José Torres Asanza (born June 2, 1966 in San Roque , Ecuador ) is an Ecuadorian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Guaranda .

Life

Hermenegildo José Torres Asanza was ordained a priest on July 12, 1992 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on October 30, 2007 titular bishop of Centenaria and auxiliary bishop in Machala . He received his episcopal ordination on December 12th of the same year by the Bishop of Machala, Néstor Rafael Herrera Heredia ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Giacomo Guido Ottonello , Apostolic Nuncio in Ecuador, and Ángel Polivio Sánchez Loaiza , Bishop of Guaranda.

Benedict XVI appointed him on October 22, 2012. to the Apostolic Administrator of Machala; with the appointment of the new bishop of Machala, Ángel Polivio Sánchez Loaiza, this office ended on July 20, 2013.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Guaranda on October 4, 2018.
