Giacomo Guido Ottonello (born August 29, 1946 in Masone , Genoa Province , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Giacomo Guido Ottonello received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Acqui on June 29, 1971 . He was in the subject Catholic Theology doctorate .

On March 25, 1980, Giacomo Guido Ottonello entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See . He worked in the Apostolic Nunciatures in Pakistan , El Salvador , France , Spain , Poland and Lebanon .

On 29 November 1999 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To Titular Archbishop of Sasabe and ordered him to the apostolic nuncio in Panama . The Pope personally donated his episcopal ordination on January 6, 2000 in St. Peter's Basilica ; Co-consecrators were the then official in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop of Curia Giovanni Battista Re , and the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop of Curia Marcello Zago OMI . On February 26, 2005, Pope John Paul II appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Ecuador .

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Slovakia on April 1, 2017.
