Großstadträuber is a short film by Arne Ahrens that premiered at the 2006 Max Ophüls Prize film festival in Saarbrücken.
The film is also planned in a feature-length version. Initially, for reasons of cost and in order to provide “security”, a short film was made that includes the first act of the feature film.

The two protagonists Hanne and Tomek live as neighbors in a high-rise estate in a big city.
The film begins with Hanne dreaming of kissing Tomek. When she sees him in the elevator after waking up, she doesn't dare to. During the rest of the day, she begins to search through various wallets and put the money from them into her cash register. This includes Tomek's wallet that she wants to give him back.
In the evening you see Tomek, who apparently has had a bad day, drive to a bar and get drunk there. Hanne, who has dressed up in a wig , is in the same club and steals wallets and other valuables there.
When Hanne manages to speak to Tomek, the first thing they do is talk in which she steals Tomek's car keys. But then it is discovered that Hanne is a thief. Since Hanne has meanwhile left the bar, the suspicion falls on Tomek, who runs away and gets into his car to sleep on the back seat.
After Tomek fell asleep, Hanne also gets into Tomek's car and drives home.
Awards
In 2006, Arne Ahrens received the Hessian Film Prize in the "Short Film" category for "Big City Raiders", the " Short Film Biber ", the first prize of the Rhineland-Palatinate "shortcuts" and the "Ulrich Schiegg Film Prize" in the " Action & Thrill ”. He was also nominated for the “ Max Ophüls Prize ” and the “Golden Rider Short Film ” of the “ Dresden Film Festival ”.
Producer Dirk Wellbrock was also nominated for the 2006 Producer Award from "sehsuchten".
