Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández

Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández (* 1804 in León (Nicaragua) ; † August 7, 1880 ibid) was Director Supremo (Head of State) of Nicaragua on January 23, 1846 .

Life

Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández was an MP and general. In León in April 1833 the La Opinion Publica and in August 1835 the Telegrafo Nicaraguense were the first newspapers in Nicaragua to be published with a certain regularity. The editor of Telegrafo Nicaraguense was Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández.

1844 Guerra de Malespín

In the Guerra de Malespín , León was attacked by troops from El Salvador, Honduras and Granada (Nicaragua) . A negotiating delegation from León: Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández and Jerónimo Carcache from Leon came to the attackers' headquarters.

1846 Director Supremo

On January 22, 1846, José León Sandoval moved to Masaya (city) and handed over the presidency to the Senator José María Sanders, who was later replaced by Hermenegildo Zepeda.

Representación Nacional de Centroamerica

On November 8, 1849, the government of Nicaragua , El Salvador and Honduras in León (Nicaragua) agreed the Pacto de Confederación , which should have a budget. The representation of this confederation met on January 9, 1851 in Chinandega . Representatives were Pablo Buitrago Benavente, Justo Abaunza y Muñoz de Avilés and Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández for Nicaragua, José María Guerrero de Arcos y Molina for Honduras, José Francisco Barrundia y Cepeda and José María Silva for El Salvador. The committee elected Hermenegildo Zepeda Fernández as president, José María Silva (1804, † 1876) as first secretary and Pablo Buitrago Benavente as second secretary.

His descendant Maximo Hermenegildo Zepeda was a lawyer, advisor and foreign minister in 1922 in the government of Diego Manuel Chamorro Bolaños .
