The Herrin Peak is a 1755 m high and icy mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises 10 km south of Landmark Peak on the eastern flank of the Gowan Glacier .
A University of Minnesota geological team who worked in the area between 1963 and 1964 named him. Namesake is John Marshall Herrin (1923-2017), head of the helicopter squadron of the 62nd Transport Squadron of the United States Navy , who had supported the team in their work.
