The Hess Mesa is a small table mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it towers over the watershed between the Koenig Valley and Mudrey Cirque .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 after Laurent Oswald Hess (1912–1974), captain of the tanker USNS Maumee in Operation Deep Freeze in 1970 and 1971.
