Heterophragma is a plant genus that the family of Bignoniaceae belongs (Bignoniaceae). The two species belonging to itare native to India and Southeast Asia .

description

Heterophragma species are trees with hairy trunks . The leaves stand whorled and are pinnate with three or four pairs of pinnate leaves. The upper side of the leaf is hairy with adjacent, star-shaped trichomes .

The inflorescences are terminal thyrses , which are hairy tomentose. The calyx is tubular and irregularly lobed. The crown is also tubular, straight, creamy white to pale yellow and covered with corolla lobes of almost the same length. The four stamens do not protrude beyond the crown, the anthers are hairless and consist of straight counters. A single staminodium is formed next to the stamens . The ovary is elliptical, hairless and contains many ovules per ovary chamber.

The fruits are almost cylindrical capsules with woody valves. The calyx is not permanent on the fruit. The seeds are broad and winged translucently.
