The Heuberg is a four-peaked mountain in Bavaria , which is counted among the Chiemgau Alps . It is located on the edge of the Inn Valley near Nussdorf am Inn . An easy mountain hike leads to the main summit, known as Heuberg (1338 m). In contrast, the three other peaks, the water wall (1367 m), the Kitzstein (1398 m) and the Kindlwand (1228 m) require surefootedness in exposed terrain.
Surname
The Heuberg takes its name from a grassy hill between Kitzstein and Wasserwand, which used to be used by farmers to harvest hay. He still delivers grass and hay for the cattle on the alpine pastures or in the stables during the winter.
North below the summit at 1060 meters are the Daffneralmen, which are cultivated all year round. There are various hiking routes there and thus also on the Heuberg. One tour leads from Nussdorf on the forest road via Kirchwald (2 hours) and another from Samerberg (fragrance inn) via Langersleiten (1 hour) to the Daffneralmen. The ascent from the alpine pastures, which leads past the water wall, takes another 45 minutes. From the summit of the Heuberg you can see the Inn valley, the Kranzhorn and the Mangfall Mountains .

Flora and fauna
The meadows and forests on and around the Heuberg are very species-rich. In sheltered locations on the Heuberg, there are the Turk's League , Red Forest Bird and Lady's Slipper and other rare plants. Flower lovers get their money's worth right after the snow melts, when the purple and white crocuses bloom on the alpine meadows.
