history

Cassadee Pope

The band formed in West Palm Beach, where Cassadee Pope was discovered at a regional music conference. Although she was still in high school, the singer received A&R attention because of her voice. Then she formed the band Blake together with Jersey Moriarty, Elliot James, Mike Gentile and Alex Lipshaw. After changing their name to Hey Monday, the band signed a contract with Columbia Records . Then they went into the studio with S * A * M & Sluggo , who had also produced albums for Metro Station and The Academy Is… , where they were preparing for the release of their debut album. The album Hold On Tight was released on October 7, 2008. In the following year they supported the band Fall Out Boy on national and international tours, which increased their popularity and they started their first own tour.

On August 17th, 2010 the band released the EP "Beneath It All". The sales of the EP exceeded all expectations, the EP rose to number 25 on the Billboard 200 and even to number 5 in the Top Alternative Charts. Shortly thereafter, Jersey Moriarty left the band because he could not cope with life as a musician. In autumn 2010 Hey Monday released the free download EP Hey Monday - The Myspace Transmissions via Myspace , which included five acoustic songs. On February 8, 2011, the EP "Candles" was released via iTunes , which contains an old acoustic demo version of the song of the same name, a remix of it and a new song. The music video for it was released on March 9, 2011. In December 2011 the band announced that they had decided to take a break.

Cassadee Pope began a solo career in 2012, taking part in the talent show The Voice and winning the competition that year.
