Hideo Hashimoto ( Japanese 橋本 英 郎 , Hashimoto Hideo ; born May 21, 1979 in Osaka ) is a Japanese football player who acts on the position of midfielder .

Career

Club career

Hideo Hashimoto played in his youth from 1992 to 1997 for various youth departments of Gamba Osaka , his hometown club. There he began his professional career as a footballer in the J1 League , the first Japanese league, in 1998 . In 2002 he was appointed to the first team squad, until 2005 he established himself as a permanent midfielder. With Gamba Osaka, Hashimoto won the Japanese championship in the same year. 2007 was a very successful year for Hashimoto and Gamba Osaka. First he won the J. League Cup with Osaka with a 1-0 victory in the final against Kawasaki Frontale , and the team also won the Supercup in the same year . Gamba Osaka also made it to the final of the AFC Champions League for the first time in club history , where it met Adelaide United . After a 3-0 win in the first leg, the second leg could also be won 2-0 and Gamba Osaka and Hashimoto won the Asian Champions League. In 2008 and 2009, Hashimoto also won the Imperial Cup with Osaka . Hashimoto played a total of 13 years for Gamba Osaka and completed 287 league games during this time, scoring 18 goals. 2012 Hashimoto finally moved within the first division to Vissel Kobe . Here he played 58 games until 2014 and scored two goals. After the 2013-14 season, Hashimoto ended his active football career.

National team

On June 1, 2007, Hideo Hashimoto made his debut for the Japanese national team in a friendly against Montenegro . By 2010 he had completed a total of 15 caps for Japan, but remained without a goal internationally.
