Highland Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County , Ohio in the United States . Highland Heights is a suburb of Cleveland . The population was 8,082 at the 2000 census.

Highland Heights is surrounded by the parishes of Willoughby Hills to the north, Mayfield to the east, Mayfield Heights to the south, Lyndhurst to the southwest, and Richmond Heights to the west.

history

Highland Heights was originally part of Mayfield Township , which grew into three other parishes in the city's neighborhood. These parishes of the Mayfield Township, along with Highland Heights, Gates Mills , Mayfield Heights, and Mayfield Village. Highland Heights became a community in its own right in 1920, when the Cleveland belt grew particularly strong. Since 1967, Highland Heights has the status of a City .
