Hilary Mason

Hilary Lavender Mason (born September 4, 1917 in Birmingham or London , England , † September 5, 2006 in Milton Keynes , Buckinghamshire , England) was a British actress who acted in various roles. It became popular mainly with British television films.

Life

Mason studied acting at the London School of Dramatic Art . She became known worldwide for her role as a blind medium in Nicolas Roeg's film When the Gondolas Bear Mourning (Orig .: Don't Look Now ). Other roles of her were in the British television series Z-Cars and Dixon of Dock Green , as well as a guest role in the British comedy series Ripping Yarns .

In later years she appeared on screen in the popular British children's series Maid Marian and her Merry Men . Her last role was also a children's series called Aquila .
