Hilde Grober

Hilde Gröber , b. Kazmierczak , (born March 30, 1931 in Bottrop ) is a former German table tennis player . She was among the top players in the late 1950s and early 1960s, winning fifteen national titles.

National successes

Gröber began her career at the TTC Bottrop-Eigen association. In 1954 she was nominated for the first time for participation in the national German championship . A year later she won the German championship in doubles with her club mate Hilde Kraska . She won another title in 1958 in a mixed with Hans-Werner Schippers . In 1956 she moved to DTC Kaiserberg . With his women's team she was German team champion eight times, namely in 1962, 1963 and 1965 to 1972. In the team cup, the team won five times in a row from 1964 to 1968. In 1960, Gröber was ranked third in the national ranking.

Gröber later joined the Olympia Hamborn association. In 1995 she moved to TG DJK Rheinland Hamborn, where she ended her active career after several successes in senior tournaments.

International appearances

Gröber played four international matches from 1960 to 1962. In 1959 she took part in the individual competitions of the world championship. She was also nominated for the 1960 European Championship .

When Gröber defeated the Czech Marta Lužová in the European Cup , the Kaiserberg, in 1966 , it was seen as a sensation among experts.

Private

Gröber has been married since 1955.
