Career

Myhra began his international career with jumping in Vikersund in February 1936, which he also won. He jumped a new hill record with 85 m, which was only broken in 1946 by Arnholdt Kongsgård .

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1938 in Finland's Lahti he won behind Asbjørn Ruud and Stanisław Marusarz the bronze medal on the large hill. A year later he was at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1939 in Zakopane , he was sixth on the large hill. In early March 1940, Myhra won the prestigious Holmenkollen Ski Festival in Oslo . In addition, a few weeks later, shortly before the attack by the Germans on April 9, 1940 against Norway ( Enterprise Weser Exercise ), he became the Norwegian master of the normal hill.

In the summer months, Myhra played football for his hometown club Kongsberg IF . However, after he was seriously injured in a game in August 1945, he had to end his sports career.

In Kongsberg the Hilmar Myhras vei ( Eng . Hilmar-Myhras-Weg) is named after him.
