Armin Himmelrath

Armin Himmelrath (* 1967 ) is a German education and science journalist and non-fiction author .

Life

After studying social sciences and German (teaching degree ) in Wuppertal and Be'er Scheva , the author has been working as a freelancer for various print editors (e.g. Süddeutsche Zeitung , Spiegel ) since 1986 .

In 1990 he was a founding member of the Journalisten-Aktion Umwelt (JAU), after which he was part of its board for a while. Since 1991 he has written radio reports for various editorial offices in German broadcasters. In 1992/93 he completed the advanced training course "Environmental Education for Journalists" at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In 1993 he founded the journalists' office "profil Text + Recherche" in Gummersbach. Since May 1994 he has been a lecturer in journalistic practice, free journalism and public relations for various educational institutions. From 1997 he expanded his range of activities to include online media; He also moderates events and radio broadcasts. In addition, he is committed to the Bergisch regional history. In addition, since May 2004 he has been a lecturer in journalistic writing (print, online, radio) at the Free University of Berlin. In addition to his journalistic and teaching activities, Himmelrath is the author of various non-fiction books on the subjects of school, university and science policy and biographies. Himmelrath lives in Cologne and is co-author of 44 issues of the daily program " Background " in the DLF as well as many other contributions.
