Heavenly Christmas (Original title: A Heavenly Christmas ) is a 2016 American Christmas film directed by Paul Shapiro. The film was produced by Hallmark Entertainment for the Hallmark Channel Original Movies series. Shirley MacLaine embodies an angel who accompanies the soul of a comatose businesswoman to make a child's Christmas wish come true.

action

Eve Morgan is a busy New York business woman who is inattentive on her way home one evening. She slips on the sidewalk and hits her head so hard that she falls into a coma. While her body is still in the hospital bed, her soul is already in an intermediate world where she is received by the guardian angel Pearl. Here she learns that there is one last task for her before her soul can finally go to heaven. She should fulfill a girl's Christmas wish, for which she is allowed to return to earth in human form. Eve finds it difficult to give in to her fate, but under the guidance of Pearl she finally complies. She has six days to make Max Wingford happy again. His niece Lauren, who has lived with her uncle Max and her grandparents since her mother's fatal accident, has this wish. She is very fond of her uncle and knows that he is still suffering from the loss of his sister. Both were a successful singing duo and as much as Max loves the music, he couldn't keep performing alone. Only when Eve, who he does not know is an angel, enters his life, does he begin to actively participate in life again. She encourages him to sing again in public and, through her business relationships, gives him an appearance at a music producer. Although Eve has been warned by Pearl not to become too emotionally attached to people, Eve and Max begin to fall in love. For Max this would have no further effects, because he and everyone who had met Eve as an angel would not remember her after her departure.

Unexpectedly, Eve wakes up from a coma in the hospital. For her, her trip into the in-between world had the effect that she thought everything was a dream. In doing so, she became more and more aware of how much she had neglected her private life through her work. She wants to change this from now on and, to the amazement of her brother, her work colleagues and business partners, makes new decisions that take this into account. First of all, she doesn't want to spend Christmas Eve in her company, but with her brother and his family. To do this, she uses the concert at which Max is performing. Although neither of them can directly remember each other, Max and Eve are magically drawn to each other. Eve spontaneously invites Max and his family to their Christmas party. When her uncle and Eve look at each other in love and kiss, Lauren sees her Christmas wish fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Pearl explains to Max's sister, who is standing next to her as an angel, that every now and then you have to break the rules and play fate. For Max and Eve this is now a heavenly Christmas.
