Hind Dehiba Chahyd (born Chahyd ; born March 17, 1979 in Khouribga ) is a French middle-distance runner of Moroccan origin who specializes in the 1500 meter run .

Career

In 2002 she came to France, where she met her future husband and trainer Fodil Dehiba. The two married the following year. On July 21, 2004, she received French citizenship , which enabled her to start for France at the Olympic Games in Athens shortly afterwards . There, however, she was eliminated in the 1500 meter run after the preliminary races.

In 2005 she won the bronze medal over 1500 meters at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Madrid . In the same year, in Rieti, she improved the French outdoor record over this distance to 4: 00.49 min. In 2006 she took fourth place in the French indoor record of 4: 05.67 minutes at the World Indoor Championships in Moscow . At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , she was ninth.

During a doping control on January 23, 2007, Dehiba Chahyd was convicted of the illegal use of erythropoietin (EPO). As a result, on February 16, a two-year competition ban was imposed on her for this violation of the doping regulations . After the end of this period, Dehiba took part in the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, where she was eliminated in the semifinals in the 1,500 meter run.

In July 2010 she improved the French record over 1500 meters to 3: 59.76 min. Two weeks later she celebrated the most important success of her career to date. At the European Championships in Barcelona she won the silver medal behind the Spaniard Nuria Fernández in the 1500 meter run .
