Caron often stayed in Juiz de Fora in the state of Minas Gerais (MG) after he was appointed director of the local Academy of Arts and Crafts. From 1885 he also made some commissioned works including portraits. In April of the same year, thanks to the support of his family, he was able to go on a trip to Paris in order to get to know European landscapes and to deepen his knowledge. On painting trips through Normandy and Brittany, he studied with the famous painter Hector Hanoteau . He was in close contact with a friend from their time together in Grupo Grimm Domingo Garcia y Vásquez, who was also studying in Paris, and the Romantic painter Horácio Pinto da Hora , who came from Sergipe State .

In 1888 Caron returned to Rio de Janeiro. In March and May he did commissioned work in Juiz de Fora and from 1890 toured the interior of the state of Minas Gerais. In June of that year he took part in the General Exhibition of the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro. Together with Giovanni Battista Castagneto, whom he had brought to Juiz de Fora, he exhibited in the administration building of the newspaper "O Farol" and decorated the old theater of Juiz de Fora.

In November he moved back to the interior of Minas Gerais, stayed for a while in Sabará and painted. Back in Juiz de Fora, from December 1891 to February he worked out the popular decorations for the Club Carnavalesco dos Sortistas. Then he went back to the south of the Minas and came back with yellow fever in April. On May 15, Caron died at the age of 30 after the disease suddenly worsened.
